Introduction

Welcome to Plabric (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of www.plabric.com and all of its calculators, articles, and content (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

What Plabric Is — and Isn’t

Plabric is an independent, ad-supported site about textile and fabric science. Its calculators produce educational estimatesfrom the figures you enter and standard textile formulas — converting fabric weight between GSM and oz/yd², working out weight from dimensions, converting yarn counts between denier, tex, dtex, Nm, and Ne, estimating project yardage, computing thread count and cover factor, and estimating shrinkage. These estimates are general information only. Plabric is not a mill, a testing house, a textile engineer, or a laboratory, and using the Service does not create any professional relationship. For real production, sourcing, and performance-critical decisions, a qualified textile lab or technologist testing your actual fabric is the authority.

Use the Estimates as a Starting Point

Real fabric behaves differently from an idealized formula. A cloth’s actual weight, cover, and hand depend on fibre, yarn, weave or knit structure, crimp, and finish; shrinkage depends on the fibre, the construction, and the wash and dry cycle, and can differ between length and width; and yardage depends on your layout, pattern, and how much you waste cutting. Treat every result as a figure to understand your options and sanity-check a plan or a spec — not as a guaranteed outcome — and test your actual fabric, or confirm the figures with a qualified textile lab, before you commit a cut, a costing, or a supply contract.

The site’s text, layout, calculators, and code are the property of Plabric or its licensors and are protected by copyright. Where an article draws on openly licensed reference material, that material remains under its own licence. You may use the tools for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the site’s software or remove its notices.

No Warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We aim for correct formulas and sensible defaults, but we do not warrant that results are error-free, complete, or suitable for your specific fibre, yarn, cloth, or project, or that the site will always be available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plabric and its suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including buying the wrong quantity of fabric, mis-specifying a yarn or weight, a garment that shrinks out of size, or a rejected production run — that arise from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. You are responsible for testing your actual fabric and confirming figures with a qualified textile lab before relying on the results for production or a supply contract.

The site displays third-party advertising (including Google AdSense) and may link to third-party retailers or resources, including affiliate links through the Amazon Associates programme. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for their content, prices, or practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Use them at your own risk and review their terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of its competent courts for any dispute arising from the Service.
